We’re involved with tiny computers throughout our daily life: fitness trackers, smartphones, children’s toys, and more. Let’s take a look at a device that allows us to hook students to interest them in STEM and coding fundamentals – with the emphasis on FUN. The micro:bit is a fully functioning microcomputer that has a screen, a gyroscope, temperature sensor, light sensor, a microphone, and a speaker. Don’t be afraid of the coding part – you can do drag-and-drop programming. We’ll make single player apps and games, mutli-player games, and interact with some robots.
