Under the direction of the Superintendent the Executive Director, Office of Equity oversees the implementation of the District’s Equity Plan and the strategies that serve to increase educational equity across all PPS schools. The Executive Director, Office of Equity is relentless in the pursuit of equity and excellence as it pertains to student achievement. This individual helps shape the district’s reform work through a lens of equity aimed at supporting the district’s goals of accelerating student achievement and eliminating racial disparities.

The Executive Director, Office of Equity must successfully build and maintain relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and leverage the relationships to continually monitor, analyze, and improve district policies and practices to create equitable outcomes for students. Additionally, this individual works to ensure district compliance to the Memorandum of Understanding established with the Equity Advisory Panel through the Pennsylvania Human Rights Council, manages district grants related to equity, coordinates and facilitates equity focused professional learning opportunities, and supports collaboration between communities, schools, and central office. Finally, the Executive Director, Office of Equity supervises the staff of the Equity Office and serves as a member of the superintendent’s executive cabinet.
