This exciting opportunity builds on previous outreach efforts in the college. This position is for someone who thrives in an engaging and community-focused work environment. The primary role of this individual is to execute the vision and strategic direction of programming and projects that support efforts to build more equitable and inclusive pathways for all students to study engineering.
The Director of Engineering Outreach will participate and lead a team responsible for managing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating current engineering outreach programs, supporting grant writing for funding of new outreach programming, and general efforts to broaden participation and the accessibility of engineering education. The work may include but is not limited to growing and strengthening the organization’s network among K-12 teachers and out-of-school time (OST) providers, crafting strategies to reach constituents, and helping to advance Carnegie Mellon’s mission of building a larger community of diverse engineers for the 21st Century.
