In the final installment of MAEC’s four-part homeless education and family engagement webinar series, MAEC has teamed with the National Center for Homeless Education (NCHE) for a two-day community of practice. Participants will audit their policies and practices related to students experiencing homelessness, and develop individualized action plans based on their findings.

In this community of practice, participants will:

1. Develop an understanding of the McKinney-Vento Act
2. Identify policies, practices, and systems of support available to students and families experiencing homeless
3. Audit current policies and practices used by their school, district, or organization to support students and families experiencing homelessness
4. Create an action plan to support the needs of students and families experiencing homelessness
