MAEC’s Collaborative Action for Family Engagement (CAFE) and the Center for Education Equity (CEE) present “Are ALL the Children Well?” A four-part homeless education and family engagement webinar series. This series will raise awareness about students who experience homelessness and provide resources and guidance for working with schools, families, and communities.
In this webinar, participants will:
- Explore data on LGBTQIA+ students who experience homelessness
- Identify red flags and risk factors for LGBTQIA+ students who experience homelessness
- Hear testimonials from impacted individuals
- Gather resources to support the advocacy of LGBTQIA+ students who experience homelessness
They will hear from impacted individuals and field experts regarding action steps for families, schools, and their communities.
Join as MAEC demystifies supports available for out of school time (OST) service providers, reviews strategies to ensure the preservation of dignity while advocating for students, and audit district-, school-, and community-based practices to ensure equitable access.
Topics in the series include summer support, advocacy for LGBTQIA+ students and their families, state- and district-level partnerships, and community and team partnerships.
