To address the challenge of food production for the world’s increasing population, education and industry must come together to train youth in state-of-art technology. YIELD is a week-long professional development workshop that allows teachers to explore the agricultural industry through academic research labs and food and agricultural industries.
In this workshop, teachers will learn how to automate hydroponics systems, carry out plant tissue culture and breeding, and learn about medicinal properties of plants. Teachers attending this workshop will have the opportunity to enter their students in an Automated Hydroponic System Challenge that will take place at Penn State Harrisburg in Spring 2023.
