Arts Greenhouse is an initiative run through the Department of English at Carnegie Mellon University. Their mission is to champion the expressive and intellectual development of underserved Pittsburgh’s 5th-9th grade youth through arts and humanities-focused enrichment activities. Through workshops grounded in creative writing, participants engage with concepts of self-identity, nature and local environments, communities, and social justice through different artistic mediums. Arts Greenhouse provides programming for in-school and out-of-school time settings at partner sites throughout Pittsburgh.
