The Citizen Science Lab

The Citizen Science Lab (TCSL) is a non-profit hands-on laboratory where inquisitive minds and science enthusiasts can explore the life sciences. They are open to everyone to observe and analyze through discovery-based STEM enrichment. TCSL serves the Pittsburgh region with extracurricular enrichment support via homeschool and weekend workshops, after-school programs, summer camps, lab memberships, birthday parties, and other events.

TCSL currently has open positions within their organization, and is hiring for the following:

  • Administrative Assistant (full-time) – Performs administrative duties for executive management, which may include screening calls, managing calendars, making travel, event, and meeting arrangements, preparing reports and financial data, and customer relations.
  • Lead Instructor (full-time) – Covers a wide range of duties, mainly focused development, coordination, and facilitation of various STEM lessons. These include as-requested programs such as school workshops and birthday parties and recurring programs such as grant-funded initiatives and school partnerships.
  • Laboratory Instructional Support Technician (full-time) – Supports instructional staff and maintenance of instructional materials for various STEM lessons. This position will also involve working directly with youth in a youth-centric environment and may involve teaching as necessary.
  • Enrichment Technician (part-time) – Facilitates science- and STEM-themed education programming in school and out-of-school-time settings, among other duties.
