Winchester Thurston School, a Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 independent school in Pittsburgh, announces an immediate opening for a full-time Lower School Academic Support Assistant Teacher. This is a position for the remainder of the 2021-22 school year only.

The Academic Support Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Academic Support Teachers in providing and assisting with accommodations, modifications, and behavioral and instructional support for students (Grades K-5) who have been identified as needing academic support in math and language arts or support with behavioral issues.

The Academic Support Assistant Teacher must understand the educational, social, and emotional needs of young children. They must have the ability to effectively communicate with them, respond appropriately to the individual differences in children, and implement differentiated instruction.

This is a full-time, salaried, temporary position for the remainder of the 2021-22 academic year.
