Join the Frick Environmental Center Educator Cohort! This paid opportunity is for educators that work with high school students to create sustainability lessons, activities, and other learning experiences based on the Frick Environmental Center’s Building Dashboard, which records real-time data on the building’s energy and water use.

Participants will receive in-depth training on the building dashboard, a $250 stipend, and a free virtual or reduced fee in-person tour of the Frick Environmental Center. Act 48 credits are available.

Participants must produce two lessons related to the dashboard and attend both 1.5 hour meetings (virtual or in-person, depending on group preference). The dates of the meetings are:

  • Meeting 1: December 13, 2021, 4:30-6:00pm
  • Meeting 2: January 24, 2022, 4:30-6:00pm

The cohort is for educators that work with high school students in an organized setting (classroom, outside, OST). The dashboard data is geared towards science and math content areas, but any educator is welcome to apply. Registration closes for this cohort on December 1st, but email econrad@pittsburghparks.org if you’d like to be put on the list for our spring cohort that starts February 2022.
