Intermediate Unit 1 (IU1) is pleased to offer regional districts the opportunity to apply for IU1 Innovation Mini-Grants for up to $5,000. Funded by the Claude Worthington Benedum, Equitrans Midstream Foundation, and EQT Foundation. The IU1 Innovation Mini-Grants are available to schools in the following counties:

  • Pennsylvania: Fayette, Greene, and Washington counties

  • West Virginia: Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Hancock, Wetzel, Barbour, Doddridge, Gilmer, Harrison, Lewis, Marion, Monongalia, Preston, Randolph, Taylor, Tucker, and Upshur counties

  • Ohio: Belmont County

Proposals must be submitted electronically and received by June 4, 2021.

Projects will be reviewed by multiple reviewers and scored based on the Innovation Grant Rubric Categories. The superintendent and point of contact(s) listed in the application will be notified of your grant status by June 11, 2021, via email. Grant recipients will be REQUIRED to attend the annual Innovation Showcase in the fall of 2021 and submit information for a quick guide.

Schools may submit multiple applications. Please use the Innovation Grant Rubric as a guide to how projects will be scored.
