Happy New Year! Through the generous support of the Grable Foundation, the State of Black of Learning will launch a series of free professional development opportunities over the next few months to ensure that every educator and student has an opportunity to excel within this new paradigm of education.
The beginning of the 2020 – 2021 school year presented learning environments with unprecedented challenges driven by a global pandemic and blanketed by systemic racism and inequality embedded in the American education industrial complex. Yet, in the midst of these challenges, we have witnessed exemplary educators within the SBL network adapt and innovate their teaching styles by utilizing technological tools to engage and sustain rigor.
The State of Black of Learning would like to highlight some of these unsung heroes of education by giving them a chance to showcase their ability to engage students during remote or hybrid learning.
Educators will receive a stipend for their participation and offered an opportunity to share out these best practices during our March and May networking gatherings*. If you or someone you know is doing some phenomenal work, please email us at info@stateofblacklearning.com.
