Seeking participants for a research study on school safety, discipline, race, and racism in the Pittsburgh Public Schools.

As part of their dissertation, doctoral student Emily Howe of the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Education is surveying Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS) stakeholders about their experiences with and perspectives of school safety and school discipline within PPS.

The study seeks to engage a variety of PPS stakeholders (e.g., caregivers, in/formal educators, activists, former students, community members) and participants are needed for both a survey and interviews. $25 compensation will be provided for hour-long interviews and two survey participants will be randomly selected for $25 gift cards. Please email Emily Howe (emily (dot) howe (at) pitt (dot) edu) if you are interested in being interviewed or have any questions.
