In consultation with Dr. Tom Akiva (University of Pittsburgh) and Dr. Annie White (Fred Rogers Center), APOST is offering an advanced professional development experience for OST staff. The goal of the Social and Emotional Learning Fellowship (SELF) is to identify the SEL strengths of the OST organization and equip staff with knowledge, resources, and a supportive learning community that will result in an increase in intentional, positive, and improved SEL practices. Apply to have your OST organization be one of the ten participants!

Participating organizations will choose 2-3 staff members to participate in all program sessions. Organizations will also identify a middle or high school youth to participate in 3 sessions. Youth will help select social skills to target, identify effective SEL practices, and share how SEL in their OST programs has impacted their lives.

Sessions will be facilitated by Dr. Tom Akiva (University of Pittsburgh), and Dr. Annie White (Fred Rogers Center). Sessions will take place from 10:30-12:00 on the following Thursdays: 2/11, 2/25, 3/11, 3/25. Programs will then have one month to complete projects. The program will end with a final reflection session on 5/6 and a presentation and celebration of learning during Remake Learning Days on 5/13.
