The Ellis School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is seeking an Upper School Division Head to begin July 1, 2021. Ellis is the only all-girls school in Pittsburgh serving students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12, with a mission of educating girls and young women to become bold, authentic, intellectually vibrant changemakers. The School currently serves approximately 370 students evenly distributed across three divisions, with the Upper School Division composed of students in grades 9-12. The Upper School is particularly well known for its strong academic program, the close relationships between students and teachers, the rich and varied opportunities for students to explore their interests both in and out of the classroom, and the focus on collaborative, real world problem solving experiences. The Upper School Division Head works closely with faculty, staff, and families to create an inclusive and engaging learning community in which all students are known and loved and actively supported and challenged to be their own best selves.

Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated commitment to building inclusive school communities, joyful experience working with adolescent girls and their families, deep knowledge of upper school curriculum and classroom practice, and proven experience working with other adults as a leader in a school setting.
