With this year’s “Learning by Design” theme, the Remake Learning Days Across America (RLDAA) team and representatives from Helsinki parental associations present why family-engaged learning is important.
Across 16 regions in the United States, the RLDAA learning festival is purposefully designed with family engagement, for youth and their caregivers, and shines a bright light on the importance of:
- each community’s learning assets like schools and out of school time organizations and spaces;
- learning from traditional and non-traditional educators;
- exploring different ways to learn through arts, maker, outdoor learning, science, technology, and youth voice;
- engaging, relevant, and equitable learning for all youth, especially girls in STEM, learners of color, learners in poverty, learners in rural areas, and learners with disabilities.
Please join us for this presentation and robust discussion on the critical role that parents, caregivers and communities play in a child’s learning. Speakers include:
- Gregg Behr, co-chair of Remake Learning and executive director of The Grable Foundation
- Dorie Taylor, producer of RLDAA
- Michael Stone, a regional producer of Remake Learning Days in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Director of Innovative Learning of Public Education Foundation
