With this year’s “Learning by Design” theme, the Remake Learning Days Across America (RLDAA) team and representatives from Helsinki parental associations present why family-engaged learning is important.

Across 16 regions in the United States, the RLDAA learning festival is purposefully designed with family engagement, for youth and their caregivers, and shines a bright light on the importance of:

• each community’s learning assets like schools and out of school time organizations and spaces;
• learning from traditional and non-traditional educators;
• exploring different ways to learn through arts, maker, outdoor learning, science, technology, and youth voice;
• engaging, relevant, and equitable learning for all youth, especially girls in STEM, learners of color, learners in poverty, learners in rural areas, and learners with disabilities.
