Transform for Tomorrow & PittEd Justice Collective present:
PART 2. Justice Teaching in STEM
This session will focus on anti-racist approaches to teaching by sharing student and teacher perspectives of Social Justice Mathematics, Science, and STEM teacher activism. It will take a deep dive into how education leaders can support teachers to use social justice mathematics and science, and what these approaches mean for justice teaching. Examples of strategies for implementation from their hands-on experiences as STEM teachers, coaches, professors, and/or as organizers will be shared.
You are preparing already for what will be a very different 2020-21 school year. You’re adjusting to new ways of preparing your teachers, educating your students, and supporting your parents. Have you also integrated matters of justice? Are you constructing anti-racist systems? This virtual series presents opportunities to share and learn from one another about how our schools might, together, make plans for what comes next, no matter what tomorrow brings.
