2020 REI WORKSHOPS

Groundwater / Half-Day Sessions ($100 per person)

In this lively and participatory presentation, REI organizers will use stories and data to present a perspective that racism is fundamentally structural in nature. By examining the characteristics of modern-day racial inequity, the presentation introduces participants to an analysis that most find immediately helpful and relevant. The Groundwater Presentation dovetails with REI’s Phase I workshop and is recommended as an introduction or follow-up to a full two-day workshop

IN-PERSON VS. VIRTUAL

All 2020 Groundwater sessions will now be held virtually. All Phase One (two-day) and Latino Challenges (two-day) sessions are currently scheduled to be in-person at locations TBD within the city of Cleveland, but will be updated on each Eventbrite page as soon as they are available. REI is monitoring public health guidance closely and each session is subject to cancelation or transition to virtual in the weeks leading up to it. Please check back on this page for more information on the possible transition of these sessions to the virtual space.

PRIVATE SESSIONS

Private sessions are available upon request. Please contact rei@3rdspaceactionlab.co for pricing, including details about your organization/group, an estimated number of attendees, and requested dates or estimated timeline.

These sessions presented by the Racial Equity Institute are offered regularly throughout the year and are open to the public.
ThirdSpace Action Lab was created to disrupt the vicious cycle of disinvestment and displacement that negatively impacts the vitality of low-income communities of color.  We are a grassroots research, strategy & design cooperative, dedicated to prototyping creative place-based solutions to complex socio-economic problems. We are institutional and community organizers, turning multidisciplinary research into evidence-based strategies; and activating “third places” to co-creating more liberated spaces for people of color.
