Join Remake Learning and WIU7 in discussing English Language Learners in the region and how Westmoreland County is leading the way.
Susan McKeever and Joe DiLucente of WIU 7 will lead a discussion on equity and accessible learning environments for English Learners. Local examples highlighting student success will be provided. The goal of this session is to go beyond scaffolding tools and comprehensible input to include those elements of programming and student advocacy that promote meaningful engagement, and ultimately student success, in equitable learning environments. Susan and Joe will highlight the construction of student-specific language learning plans, and how these dynamic documents form the basis of effective collaboration with content teachers. Also, strategies for administrator engagement and professional learning will be discussed through the lens of regular communication.
