During the COVID-19 quarantines, it feels like everything has been put on hold, including public displays of climate activism. Based on what is known from previous global pandemics, massive recessions, and world wars, what can people anticipate for climate action after COVID-19? This discussion will be based on Rebecca Solnit’s article, “’The impossible has already happened’: what coronavirus can teach us about hope,” and how although everything can’t be anticipated, there is some promise moving forward.

The first 15 minutes of each Happy Hour will be a brief presentation on the topic, which will lead into a guided discussion. There will be a summary of the reading, so don’t feel like you need to read it to participate in the conversation. The Zoom link will be sent upon registering.
