Youth Voice involves centering young people’s identities, interests, needs, and perspectives in decisions that affect their learning and lives. This requires supporting youth in positions of genuine leadership and power over those decisions.

As adults, we have the ability and obligation to make space for Youth Voice in our learning environments and communities. When we listen to youth and share power, we help youth to learn and thrive.

The Youth Voice Best Practices Toolkit, developed by a coalition of youth and adult leaders, provides basic frameworks, tangible resources, and local stories to support adult educators, facilitators, and administrators in uplifting Youth Voice.
