The Simple Interactions Leadership Program (SILP) is a partnership between Allegheny Partners for Out-of-School Time (APOST) and the University of Pittsburgh School of Education. It is an advanced professional development experience intended for individuals with a passion for youth development. Participants will engage in strength-based professional development that will help them identify ways to increase developmental interactions between adults and youth, positively supporting the social and emotional well-being of the youth they serve.

Throughout the six-week program and with support from facilitators, participants will identify a practice technique of interest in which to deepen their expertise. The course will provide support for using the tools of social science to increase understanding about their topic of choice. Participants will work as a cohort to strengthen each other’s work through feedback and review. Upon completion of the program, participants will present their work to key stakeholders.

Desired Applicants
SILP seeks individuals that work either part-time or full-time in out-of-school time settings within Allegheny County. Each applicant should be able to commit to the six-week course, including a final presentation. Participants will receive $200 for full participation in the program.
