Children who grow up to become scientists typically fall in love with the subject in elementary school. That’s why The Maker’s Clubhouse is requesting help to bridge opportunity gaps in STEAM education for students in Allegheny County with quality educational experiences like the annual Dream STEAM community event.

Dream STEAM takes place in Homewood, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and celebrates diverse contributions to the STEAM fields and makes learning fun with science experiments, engineering challenges, interactive presentations, and hands-on activities provided by partner organizations. This full-day event is part of The Maker’s Clubhouse mission to use out-of-school time programming to change the educational trajectory of the children they serve by exposing them to world-class experiences designed to improve academic self-esteem and to expose them to a future that is unlocked by hard work, discipline, and access to opportunities.
