Teachers grades 6 through 12 are invited to apply for the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh’s Summer Teachers’ Institute. There are two sessions: a 5-day Advanced Workshop from July 15-19 and an Introductory Workshop from July 29-31. Sessions will take place at Intermediate Unit 3 at the Waterfront in Homestead, PA. Lodging will be available for educators who prefer to stay nearby for the duration of the seminars. Act 48 credit is available.
Introductory Institute: July 29-31, 2019
- For teachers with fewer than 5 years of experience teaching about the Holocaust
- $150, or $300 with hotel lodging.
Attendees will consider the evidence for the impact of Holocaust education and develop educational rationale while learning about PA State resources and Holocaust Center resources that educators can implement in their classroom immediately. Educators will also interact with award-winning Holocaust educators to build confidence and depth of knowledge about teaching the Holocaust.
