At the Authentic Plant Pollinator Landscape Research for Educators (APPL-RED) Workshop, teachers will have the opportunity to participate and collaborate with leading researchers in the area of pollinator and plant-pollinator landscape research, CSATS science educators, and educators from across Pennsylvania. Participants will spend a week at Penn State University, learning about ongoing, cutting-edge plant-pollinator research at the Penn State Center for Pollinator Research (CPR) and various research techniques used in this interdisciplinary field.

With support from the APPL-RED team, participants will develop a research project to implement with their students in the 2019-2020 academic year. The classroom research project will incorporate learnings from the workshop and data collected by Dr. Christina Grozinger and others at the CPR, as well as plant-pollinator interaction data collected by Master Gardeners of Pennsylvania. Preference will be given to collaborative teams of teachers from the same school or district.

This workshop is limited to 16 participants, so register early! For additional information and to apply, visit: CSATS Summer Workshops.
