The Allegheny Valley School District seeks an innovative, passionate business, computer and information technology teacher who will extend students’ learning beyond the classroom with real-world opportunities.

The technology/business teacher will provide comprehensive instruction aligned with the PA Academic Standards for Business and Technology. This candidate must actively seek possibilities for student success as well as personalized learning and be an advocate for underserved students who continuously seeks equitable experiences for all students. The ideal candidate is open-minded, confident about their craft, willing to take smart risks, and will continually attempt cutting-edge instructional practices.

The Allegheny Valley School District expects this person to be knowledgeable in data fluency, coding, Google Classroom, and be an integral part of an elementary cyberlearning program. Also, the School District encourages experience with design thinking or with prototyping so entrepreneurship is embedded within the course context. The business/technology teacher will excitedly support teachers and staff within these fields. Subsequently, the elementary business/technology teacher must possess a knack for building relationships with neighboring or global businesses and classrooms.

A certification in K-12 Business, Computer and Information Technology is required. A K-6 elementary teaching certification and 3-5 years of teaching or professional experience is preferred. The successful candidate must also have practical communication skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively with students, parents, and school staff, in addition to managing multiple initiatives with an open mind.
