- College/university educators, students, administrators, and career counselors

This year’s STEM Summit will welcome Dr. Justin Aglio, Director of K-4 Academic Achievement and K-12 Innovation at Montour School District, as he shares a lively presentation, AI in STEM: It’s Here! Get Ready, Now! Artificial intelligence (AI) is quickly shaping our world, but just as AI hinges on the collection of data, AI’s success will hinge on a collection of shared stakeholders. Attendees will experience how AI in STEM is impacting local schools, workforce, communities, and daily lives.
Carnegie Mellon University’s Girls of Steel, a FIRST® Robotics Competition team, will also speak at the STEM Summit. The team is part of an international program with a goal to teach students about science and technology. The group is made up of about 50 teenagers in grades 9-12 from more than 20 schools who build a 120 lb. game-playing robot for the FIRST Robotics Competition. In addition to learning technical skills, Girls of Steel members also gain valuable skills for college and their careers. Attendees will hear first-hand how students’ involvement in this group is shaping their future in STEM and creating opportunities and connections!
The summit will also include company tours from BNY Mellon, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Google, MSA – The Safety Company, Peoples, Rivers of Steel, SDLC, Tobii Dynavox, and Uber.
