Draw the Lines PA is a new experiential learning education project that engages students around Pennsylvania in contributing to the ongoing discussion about how we draw our voting maps. This initiative, fully nonpartisan, aims to bring the same kind of digital mapping tools and data to students and voters so they can map their own districts.

Before they do so, DTL has a host of resources to support project-based learning in classrooms, from grades 6 through 12, on campuses and throughout our communities.

We look forward to demonstrating the mapping platform, called DistrictBuilder, and a custom curriculum designed by PA teachers, in-line with the PA Standards Aligned System. Most importantly, we want feedback on how well this project would work in your learning environment.

Hopefully, with some momentum towards transparency and fairness in how the districts are actually drawn, Draw the Lines helps create feelings of efficacy for student mappers to participate in their democracy. Mappers can submit their districts to our competition, where they can win up to $5,000. Learn more at drawthelinespa.org.
