The Mentoring Partnership in Collaboration with Remake Learning invite you to attend a discussion on Parent & Family Engagement based on Search Institute’s 2015 Report, Don’t Forget The Families. This discussion will focus specifically on six critical shifts needed to re-imagine family engagement. This report challenges schools, youth programs, and coalitions to 1. “move beyond platitudes about the importance of relationships in young people’s lives”. 2. “re-examine the assumption about families, their roles in young people’s lives, and the fundamental ways schools, organizations, and systems relate to parenting adults.”
Please join the discussion and share any innovative ways that you are engaging families in your schools, organizations and the community.
You can read the report in-full before the meeting by clicking here.
Lunch will be served, so please email Ani (ani@remakelearning.org) with any dietary restrictions or requests. Deadline for restriction requests is October 22nd. More details and accessibility will be noted in an email closer to the event.
