Regional Arts Education Day 2018

The theme of this year’s symposium is Honoring Tradition, Demanding Progress. Over twenty presenters will hold concurrent sessions throughout the day on topics including fiber arts, synthesizers, culturally responsive pedagogy, observational drawing, and more.

In addition, AEC is thrilled to announce not one, but two exceptional keynote speakers for Regional Arts Education DayThe first is vocalist, educator, and composer Anqwenique Wingfield. Wingfield is Director of Education at the Pittsburgh Festival Opera and Studio Director at BOOM Concepts. The second speaker is Eric Booth, who was keynote speaker at the 1998 Arts Education Congress that eventually gave birth to AEC. Booth has drawn attention and helped give viability to teaching artistry as a career.

Regional Arts Education Day will take place on October 8, 2018 at the Pittsburgh Greenway Professional Development Center. To register and see a complete list of concurrent sessions, go to the registration page on AEC’s website. Registration fees can be adjusted based on FRPM or organization budget.
