The Educator in the Workforce program offers educators a hands-on opportunity to spend time in a company environment to connect their area of expertise with employer needs and opportunities, new technologies, and the use of academic skills and knowledge in the 21st century workplace. The goal is to improve students’ academic experiences by demonstrating that what they learn in the classroom is relevant and practical. Educators can better understand workforce needs and gear instruction accordingly.

The day will focus on:

• – Learning about fast-growing, in-demand and high-paying careers in our region
• – Hearing from employers and the current workforce about the multiple pathways to
• careers, from journeymen to engineers
• – Helping students understand how they can use their skills and knowledge across multiple industry sectors
