Arts Education Collaborative’s Leadership Academy is back for the 2018-19 school year! In an era of shrinking budgets and competing interests, the field needs strong voices advocating for the arts. Leadership Academy can help educators become the advocates needed to secure a vibrant future for the arts in education.

This experience begins with a dynamic five-day summer session (Jul. 16-20) at Rivers of Steel National Heritage Area. Participants work and learn with a small cohort of fellow educators who are passionate about the arts and committed to its central role in learning. Three additional professional learning days throughout the school year (Oct. 8, Jan. 22, and Apr. 11) will take Academy members to other cultural sites for further growth. In addition, multiple one-hour online sessions will continue this journey without affecting valuable classroom time.

Together, teachers will develop leadership skills through interactive workshops, broaden their knowledge of instructional practice, and create action plans to identify and achieve their professional goals. By the end of the experience, teachers will be ready to bring a leadership initiative to life in their district or organization with one-on-one support from Arts Education Collaborative staff.

Registration is only $200 upon acceptance. This fee covers all costs of participation as well as breakfast, lunch, and parking. Participants will receive up to 90 Act 48 credit hours or credit hours toward Level II certification. Districts will be reimbursed up to $100 per day for substitutes to allow educators to attend seminars during the school year.
