Avonworth School District, in conjunction with LUMA Institute and the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts  will deliver a two-and-half day peer learning experience that combines Project-Based Learning (PBL), Design Thinking, and Arts Integration—July 10-12, 2018, at Avonworth High School. Participants will learn new tools in design thinking and the arts to workshop ideas for developing authentic PBL units. Studio A will equip teachers across the region to scale innovative practices that do not require a large budget to implement. Teachers will build skills and knowledge to develop interdisciplinary, project-based lessons/units to engage students in meaningful learning and in applying 21st century skills.

A nominal non-refundable fee of $50 will be charged to secure a commitment to attend the this summer institute. A lite breakfast and lunch will be provided each day. This innovative regional teacher workshop is made possible by the generous support of the Grable Foundation. Act 48 hours will be granted to those who complete the full two-and-a-half day workshop.
