Arts Education Collaborative (AEC) seeks compelling breakout session proposals for Regional Arts Education Day! This year’s theme is Honoring Tradition, Demanding Progress, and AEC wants to feature the work of Pittsburgh’s educatorsartists, and students!

Regional Arts Education Day will be held on October 8 at a Pittsburgh-area location to be determined. Breakout sessions will run for approximately one hour. This year, AEC will set aside at least one breakout session specifically to highlight students’ work. AEC is especially interested in sessions covering the following focus areas:

  • Research-based arts education approaches
  • School/community partnerships
  • Family engagement
  • Equity and inclusion
  • Advocacy and meeting student needs
  • Integrating technology
  • Influence of broader education trends

However, proposals in other areas connected to arts education are welcome. AEC loves innovative thinkers! Session presenters will receive free registration. AEC will also provide a $150 honorarium per session to cover planning and material costs.

Those interested should check out our simple survey form to apply. Session proposals are due by 5 PM ET on Friday, July 6, 2018. If you have questions or need assistance, contact Jamie Kasper at kasperj@artsedcollaborative or 412-397-8277.

Since 2004, Regional Arts Education Day has been bringing together leaders in the field to share ideas and improve arts education advocacy. Add your voice to the discussion at Regional Arts Education Day 2018!
