The Allegheny Intermediate Unit’s transformED is pleased to offer regional districts the opportunity to apply for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics) Catalyst Grants of up to $16,500, funded by the Grable and Hillman Foundations.

STEAM encourages a commitment to creativity, contextual thinking, and other aptitudes deemed critical to college and career readiness. transformED supports endeavors that strive toward achieving these goals in innovative and creative ways. Priority will be given to proposals that aim to increase STEAM opportunities to historically underrepresented communities.

Grants are open to schools whose current free and reduced lunch rate is 50% or higher from the following western PA counties: Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, Mercer, and Westmoreland.

Grant proposals are due by June 18, 2018.
