Experience a free and fun afternoon of games, play, and workshops to develop game concepts that teach people how being kind matters. Inspired by the work of Fred Rogers, teens are invited to hang out with regional gamers and content experts to explore the themes of kindness and empathy.
The Fred Rogers Company
and Schell Games
will showcase their collaborations on recent games and apps. iThrive Games
will lead game design activities along with Carnegie Mellon University’s Alice
and the Center for Arts & Education at West Liberty University
. The program will take place in the History Center’s Special Collections Gallery
, where the original set of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood
is on exhibit and in a pop-up Kindness Learning Lab. Participants can use digital and tactile props, creative supplies and access Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood
media in a temporary space developed for the event in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.
