Do you want to make a difference in the world?
KEYS Service Corps members dedicate their energy to creating a brighter future for youth throughout Allegheny County.
As a KEYS AmeriCorps member, you will work directly with school-age children to help them reach their academic potential. You will help shape their futures through structured school and afterschool programs. You will guide them as they learn the value of community service.
Our members work hand-in-hand with teachers and after-school personnel to help the youth they serve complete their homework and classwork.

AmeriCorps members receive a biweekly stipend in the amount of $612 before taxes plus an education award. The education award can be used to pay for the costs of attending a qualified institution of higher education or to pay back qualified student loans. It is received upon successful completion of the term-of-service. This award is not made in cash. The amount of the award is placed into the National Service Trust in the member’s name, and they have up to seven years to use it.
Healthcare and Childcare are available to eligible members.
About KEYS Service Corps AmeriCorps
How will you serve your community?
KEYS (Knowledge to Empower Youths to Success) Service Corps members serve at-risk Pittsburgh and Allegheny County area youth by providing safe places with structured activities, assisting with homework and classwork, implementing community service/service-learning projects, and involving community volunteers in service. Members serve full time or less than full time at one of our partnering sites while receiving training and support from KEYS staff before and during their year of service. Our members are placed with a variety of schools, after-school programs, community-based organizations, and faith-based organizations.
