The Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council (GPAC) welcomes anyone who has depth of knowledge and/or seasoned art experience to submit a proposal to share this knowledge with the regional arts community, primarily artists. These professional development opportunities are meant to be direct, transparent, and engaging with the goal to help artists gain new skills and capacities that support their practice as working creative professionals. Professional development workshops are not opportunities to sell services or products, rather they are meant to share knowledge. We are dedicated to accessibility and equity and want to hear from all voices. Content needs to be accessible to all, and an inclusive lens is expected to be part of programming. If you are unsure of what any of that means, please contact GPAC.
The 2018 Professional Development Series for Artists runs from February to June, then again from September to November, once a month. A typical learning experience runs about 90 minutes. Larger sessions that warrant two hours will be considered on a case by case basis. Chosen presenters will receive an honorarium of $200.00. Please keep in mind that the fee can only cover one to two presenters per event. You may propose the format that best suits your presentation: a talk, group discussion, panel, town hall, etc. Final topics/presenters/facilitators will be curated by GPAC’s Artist Relations Manager, Christiane Leach.
