The Pittsburgh Region needs a way to prepare youth for the future of work so that we have a vibrant and diverse economy for years to come. To begin addressing this challenge, a group of key stakeholders including the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, Allegheny Intermediate Unit, A. W. Beattie Career Center, Consortium For Public Education, Partner4Work, The Pittsburgh Promise, Pittsburgh Public Schools, and Schools That Can has convened to focus on the innovations and partnerships required to prepare students for a changing world. As a first step in their efforts, they are planning a showcase event that brings together partners to frame the conversation, point to promising practices, and build on local successes. The event will feature a keynote speaker, lightning talks, moderated group discussions, organizational showcases, and networking.
