About us
Open Up’s mission is to teach mindfulness tools through movement practices and interactive arts while centering people living with disabilities. We teach mindfulness tools because we believe they help us learn to evaluate how we feel in a moment. They empower people to make decisions about what is best for their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
Program Delivery Educators will be part of the teaching team at Open Up. They will work closely with other Program Delivery Educators, students, caregivers, and senior leadership at Open Up to ensure a positive educational experience for all that mirrors Open Up’s values: Openness, Inclusion, Wholeheartedness, Growth, Joy.
General Responsibilities:
- Open Up Programs: Deliver, teach, & facilitate Open Up programs on a regular basis using expertise and experience in movement, yoga, mindfulness, inclusion and accessibility, especially for those living with disabilities. Work with Open Up communities to regularly incorporate feedback.
- Continued Education: Apply best practices and seek out new learning opportunities to bring to Open Up programs.
- Community Relations: Create, foster, and maintain relationships with members of Open Up communities to receive feedback on Open Up programs and at times represent the organization at other teaching or tabling events. Collect and synthesize feedback for Open Up leadership.
- Programming Support: Collect, organize, and share data from Open Up Programs to help determine future program strategy.
Estimated Time Split:
- 80% of time onsite (in our studio, in schools, or contracted locations): teaching classes. At times this may also include training others, attending and observing classes, giving feedback on classes
- 20% of time spent on travel, planning classes, providing post-class feedback and tracking, studio set-up and cleaning, and meetings (in-person and virtual)
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of teaching experience (movement, yoga, dance – preferred)
- 5+ years experience in school education settings preferred
- Open Up strongly encourages candidates to apply who have experience (professional or lived) working with communities with disabilities and diverse backgrounds

- Schedule that can accommodate teaching hours scheduled out on a quarterly basis Must be available to be scheduled at varying times between 8am -2pm (and other opportunities outside these hours with notice)
- Must be available to work August Summer Camp first 3 weeks of August from 8 am -12 pm Mondays-Thursdays
- Ability to lift 20 lbs. without assistance
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 1 hour per class from our Lawrenceville studio.
