DESCRIPTION:Join us for an exciting in-person event at Sally Ann’s\, 6th Street\, Pittsburgh\, PA\, USA. \nHave you ever imagined what the future of maker learning looks like in Southwest PA for the next ten years? Four different affinity groups – K12\, Higher Education\, Out of School Time\, and Industry have been working since September to do just that. They were were brought together to form the Maker Learning Collaborative working group with the aim to map out robust\, accessible maker opportunities in every community that empower people to pursue creative pathways that positively impact their own lives and the broader community. \nJoin us to explore their findings and recommendations for collaboration. Meet other maker educators and teaching artists during a fun night of dinner\, drinks and networking. \nWe will offer an assortment of food including vegetarian and vegan options.

DESCRIPTION:Fail forward and make “Bad Art!” Join the Maker Learning Collaborative for our first-ever Bad Art Night! This is a great opportunity to make something that you REALLY don’t care if it works\, as any aesthetic value\, and isn’t trying to “pass a test.” Throw that perfection out the window and create an object that truly captures your gut feelings in the moment! Be ready to create without consequence or pressure to be anything other than what it is! \nAll making materials will be provided fo you. Feel free to bring your own recycled materials\, project scraps\, or miscellaneous objects that you’d like to liberate yourself from! There will also be food\, drinks\, and other awesome educators\, teaching artists\, and makers to connect with! \nAt the end of the night\, we will have a vote to who has the most “bad art.” The winner will get a prize!

Have an idea for a future project that you want feedback and advice on? \nCome present at our next Maker Learning Collaborative: Share and Show event on Thursday\, December 7 at the MAKESHOP! \nAt the Share and Show\, Maker Educators share about various projects and programs\, including things they have tried\, things they have found frustrating\, things they want to explore\, and more! Each Share and Show presentation will be 20 slides\, with each slide taking 20 seconds. If you are not up for presenting\, come to hear from fellow educators while you build connections over food and drinks from 5:30 – 7:30pm. \nInterested in presenting?
