Remake Learning Dispatch: STEM Ecosystem
Watch a quick message from LaTrenda Sherrill, Remake Learning's STEM Lead
Hello, Remake Learning Network! LaTrenda Sherrill here with a quick update about the Pittsburgh Regional STEM Ecosystem Working Group.
The Pittsburgh Regional STEM Ecosystem is one of the five working Remake Learning working groups, alongside Innovative Professional Development, CSforAll, Maker Learning, and Policy. Remake Learning convenes working groups to make progress on key regional priorities.
Pitt’s NSF-funded work to improve STEM pathways for underrepresented students in Pittsburgh and beyond, is an example of how the Ecosystem facilitates collaborative efforts to enrich the STEM learning landscape in the region. Read more about the project in our recent blog post with the principal investigators leading these efforts at Pitt.
Internally, members of the STEM Ecosystem have been working to develop standards for quality STEM learning and metrics for evaluating the individual and collective progress Pittsburgh’s STEM education stakeholders are making. Check out the Framework for Quality STEM Learning and the Metrics Action Plan to catch up on the work in progress.
