Looking for new ways to help students remix and remake the digital and physical? We’ve got just the thing.

We’ve just added a new Resources Section to remakelearning.org where we’ve collected 16 of the best tools for getting started with digital creativity. Whether you’re a novice or an expert, whether you’re teaching young children or young adults, you’ll find helpful tips for turning these tools into opportunities to advance learning and creativity.

Collected and curated by Kids+Creativity Network member Heather Mallak and introduced in a new series of blog posts by Heather Jarrett, these tools span the gamut from web-based programming interfaces to free coding tutorials to do-it-yourself invention kits. Check out these highlights:

• Want to enrich instructional videos with interactive annotations, related links, and follow up questions? Remix Youtube with Popcorn Maker.
• Want to peel back to surface of the internet and show kids what makes their favorite websites tick? Take a look under the hood with Thimble.
• Want to show teens that there’s more to apps than Instagram? Help them create their own mobile experiences with App Inventor.
• Want to bridge the gap between the digital and the physical world? Use the MaKey MaKey kit to turn anything into a computer control device.

And this is just the beginning. Keep an eye out for additional resources to be added as time goes on. We’re also planning to expand the section to include research reports, learning activities, how-to tutorials, and reference materials.
