Spark-funded project White Light by Amanda Long will be offering a series of free interactive art presentations at local schools this October. Read on to learn more about what these programs will offer and how your school can take advantage of this great opportunity.

White Light

Preschool – 3^rd Grade

(PA Standards: 9.1 and more TBA)

Experience the wonders of additive light mixing through shadow play with White Light, an interactive video presentation created by artist Amanda Long. Learn how we perceive color as three overlapping projections mix the primary colors of light—red, green and blue—revealing how all the colors of the rainbow are created.  Then delve deeper in your investigation with pre and post lesson plans on color, light and vision.

To confirm your school’s interest in hosting a free presentation of White Light, please contact Outreach manager Tara Primiero at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh via phone at (412) 322 – 5058 ext. 244 or email TPrimiero@pittsburghkids.org. You will need to have the following information ready to make your request:
• Your name and contact information
• The school’s name, address, and phone number
• Age and number of children to participate in the presentation
(up to 50 children)
