Young Naturalists is a five-week summer program designed to provide high school students with an opportunity to get outdoors and get exposure to a unique environmental learning and stewardship experience in Pittsburgh’s local parks.

Young Naturalists will spend five weeks this summer learning about plants, animals and ecosystems alongside expert naturalists while working to improve the health of our parks by controlling erosion, managing and monitoring invasive species, repairing trails and caring for trees. Each week of the program will engage the participants in a different environmental science learning theme, from “Water” to “Trees, Shrubs & Wildflowers” to “Rocks & Soil” and beyond, bringing natural life to life as an interactive learning experience out in the nature that surrounds us.

This program is part of Pittsburgh City of Learning, an initiative of The Sprout Fund. Learn more at the launch event on June 10th.
