A project to explore the history of Pittsburgh and connect students to regional resources like museums, archives, libraries, and historic sites.

This Day in Pittsburgh History, a project of Cornell School District, connects students with regional resources and supports the development and creation of 180 short documentaries describing key historical events in the Pittsburgh region to build connections between Pittsburgh’s and the world’s events. Through field trips and other first-hand information gathering, students will work in teams and in collaboration with museums, archives, libraries, and individuals to research and select key events and identify primary source documents and images to be used in the mini documentaries. Students will then develop scripts, shoot and edit their own footage.
