Giving high schoolers programming experience and opportunities

Mobile App Lab is a seven-week afterschool program at Winchester Thurston School, available to high school students via an application process. During the course, students learn processing language for Android-based apps. This enables them to use the language to make drawings, color them in, and other app building blocks. Students are also given the opportunity to take a trip to the Google office in Bakery Square. The culmination of the class is a presentation at the student’s home school to teachers and administrators. Curriculum materials are available to other schools that wish to incorporate programming in their school day.
