Exploring nature together

Exploring the outdoors, mapping the territory, collecting geo-spatial data

Geocaching Curriculum from Venture Outdoors utilizes satellite technology and hand-held GPS units to engage children and their caregivers in active outdoor recreation and exploration. The project empowers local childcare centers to create and run geocaching courses and related programming for their young participants.

For those unfamiliar, geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a GPS receiver to “hide and seek” containers out in nature. It’s a great way for kids to learn both about the world around them and about technology.
