Ringgold Gaming & Simulation LAB

The Gaming and Simulations LAB increases student engagement through integrating STEAM concepts into gaming software.

The Gaming & Simulation LAB at Ringgold Middle School utilizes interactive software and collaboration with the Washington County Planning Commission to teach students real-world problem solving skills through imaginative, civic gameplay. By introducing STEAM concepts in conjunction with classroom lessons and the outside help of an architecture and engineering mentor, students construct models of green cities, creating everything from structurally sound bridges and transportation systems to residential, commercial and industrial areas, as well as the tax rolls which pay for all of it.

Teaching students real-world problem solving techniques using real-world situations like the Gaming & Simulation LAB can do, better prepares them to enter the workforce of tomorrow with critical thinking skills that go beyond just theory.
