State-of-the-art maker lab for students across the southern Pittsburgh region

The Dream Factory is a maker lab located at Elizabeth Forward Middle School that encourages students to dream, create and make by providing the materials, tools and teachers to make dreams into reality. At the Dream Factory, students can learn robotics, engineering, design and programming with state of the art tools that they wouldn’t otherwise have access to, including laser cutters, 3D printers, microcontrollers and even a functioning TV studio with green screen.

The maker lab also plays host to the Hive-funded Saturdays at the Dream Factory program that invites youth from surrounding counties of Washington, Greene, Westmoreland and Fayette to the lab to transform inventive ideas into real objects each Saturday. With the lab and programs housed there, The Dream Factory is preparing students in the Pittsburgh region to make the innovations and inventions of tomorrow.
